Travel Team Age Groups
Commitment to Player Development Over Business:
At JH Baseball Academy, our primary focus is on the development of our players. We are committed to cultivating their skills and potential, rather than adopting a business-centric approach of assembling multiple teams in each category.
We aim to showcase our best players in each tournament, ensuring that every game is an opportunity for growth and exposure. This means we do not divide our teams into categories like Team A, Team B, or Gold/Silver teams. Our approach is to field the most competitive and cohesive team possible, reflecting the high standards of JH Baseball Academy.
Travel Team Structure:
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive, competitive, and educational baseball experience for all participants. The structure is designed to foster both player development and competitive play.
Team Composition:
Each age group within our academy will consist of a total of 18 players, divided into two distinct teams:
1. Travel Team (12 Players):
- This team will consist of 12 players who will be selected based on their skill, commitment, and performance.
- Team members will be required to participate in travel tournaments, representing JH Baseball Academy at various competitive events.
2. Developmental Team (6 Players):
- Comprising 6 players, this team will focus on developing skills and understanding of the game.
- Players on the Developmental Team can be called up to the Travel Team for any tournament.
- They will be required to participate in local scrimmage games with other travel organizations, providing them with vital match experience and exposure.
Selection Process
Tryouts for the JH Baseball Academy will always be held in the month of May, prior to the start of the regular season.
Players will be evaluated on various aspects of their game, including technical skills, tactical understanding, physical fitness, and teamwork.
We believe this structure, coupled with our development-focused philosophy, will enhance the skill set of each individual player and strengthen our teams as competitive units. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and challenging environment for all our players to thrive in.
